Evolution's perfect timing to produce a Hummingbird.

1. Flap wings in a figure eight configuration.
2. Able to fly left, right, backwards, upside down and hover.
3. Wings beat from 60 to 200 times per second.
4. Forked tongue forms double trough.
5. Tongue comes out at 30 licks per second.
6. Heart rate of 615 beats per minute.

How long did take the birds to mutate the hovering capability? I suppose when they crashed into a flower they would receive some nourishment until they pierced some solid object. But that's ok because mutations and survival of the fittest were hard at work on the next generation, if there was one.
